Burnley could be on the lookout for a goalkeeper after a cruel injury to Nick Pope.

Premier League outfit Burnley kicked-off their 2018/19 campaign with a solid, if unspectacular, maxbet performance in a 1-1 draw with Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Clarets took their first European bow for over 50 years and boss Sean Dyche will have been delighted to take the tie back to Turf Moor having secured a crucial away goal at Pittodrie Stadium.

Striker Sam Vokes netted the Clarets’ equaliser to cancel out Gary Mackay-Steven’s opener but it was an injury suffered to England stopper Nick Pope at the other end of the pitch that will have caused Dyche some cause for concern.

Pope was clattered in the tenth minute of the game and straight away called for assistance from the bench, before being helped from the field of play clutching his injured left shoulder.

With Tom Heaton maxbet currently nursing a calf problem, it leaves the Clarets with just Anders Lindegaard, the man who replaced Pope, as the only senior custodian ahead of their Europa League second leg tie with the Dons next week.

Pope’s injury concern leaves Burnley with a massive void to fill and one man who boss Dyche could make a move for is Manchester City misfit Joe Hart, who is way down the pecking order at Manchester City these days.

The league champions will probably want to offload Hart permanently this summer, but that doesn’t mean that Pep Guardiola would be completely against a temporary stint away from the club, if the right opportunity came up for the ex-England man to leave.

According to BBC Sport, Hart has spoke of his desire to leave City this summer and the chance to be a big fish in a small pond at Burnley might be a big attraction to the 31-year-old who has seen his career stutter in recent years.

Failed loan spells with Torino and West Ham United have seen Hart lose his place with the national team and the next move Hart takes has to be spot-on if he is to get back to his best.

The Clarets have shopped on the cheap in recent years but now they have qualified for Europe and are well on the way to establishing themselves as a Premier League outfit, a deal to take Hart to Turf Moor might not be too unrealistic. maxbet
